DATA PRIVACY

Designed for insights, not identity

Anonymous insights from visual signals

What we capture

We extract anonymized metadata, not pictures.

Visual input is deleted within milliseconds. This is privacy-by-design: all processing happens locally on our Edge-AI. We never send images to the cloud, and we never keep what we don’t need.

No photos. No videos. No personal data. Just metadata.

What we save

We collect only anonymous audience segments.

Our system groups people into “segment-buckets” based on broad traits like age range, gender, or group size, not individuals. What’s sent to the cloud is aggregated, stripped of identity, and impossible to trace back to anyone.

No profiles. No tracking. No risk. Just insights.

What the system sees

We see nobody, under any circumstances.

Even during setup or maintenance, our system doesn’t just blur faces, it removes people entirely from view. That means individuals have zero visibility at all times. What you see is the environment, without humans.

No people. No faces. No footage. Just zero exposure.

Our Privacy Principles

The strictest data protection laws in the world govern our technology. It has been developed and implemented within the legal frameworks of Switzerland and the EU.

Our system does not rely on surveillance cameras – we don’t monitor individuals or spaces. More importantly, CCTV cameras are made for security purposes and store pictures by default. This could be misused and violate the privacy rights of our fellow citizens.

Instead, we deliver anonymized audience insights, always designed with privacy in mind, captured by visual sensors that are not capable of storing pictures.

We’re committed to these four principles, ensuring our technology remains secure, responsible, and sustainable.

Transparency

We’re open about how our technology works. Anyone can learn what data we use, how we use it, and why. No hidden tracking. No surprises. If you’re curious to dive deeper – whether you’re a journalist, privacy expert, or simply interested – we’re happy to talk.

Self-restriction

We’ve built in limits by default. Our system does not use facial recognition, capture biometric data, or process anything personally identifiable. We only work with minimal, anonymized data, which is analyzed only in an aggregated form. Identifying an individual is against our values.

Data security

Your data is protected at every step. We use top-level encryption and a secure system architecture to guard against unauthorized access. Security isn’t a layer, it’s the foundation of our technology.

Data separation

We keep data separated and organized. Our system ensures that different data types are processed in separate, clearly defined channels, always following data protection laws and best practices.

FAQ

How can we help you?

Our technology works in compliance with European data protection legislation. Our visual sensors cannot be used to identify individuals; therefore, it is impossible to collect personal consumer data.

The following attributes are captured by the system:

  • Gender (male, female)
  • Age
  • Group Constellation
  • View time to a specific  screen/content
  • Head Position
  • Position and distance from installation point
  • Predicted Routes

The aggregated metadata is stored for analytics purposes, which is ultimately the aim of the data collection. From the stored metadata it is technically impossible to draw conclusions about the original individual or even reconstruct an image.

Advertima’s technology uses 3D visual sensors. They are not used as cameras to film and store video footage. People are not filmed by the installation. Images are analyzed in real-time, and only anonymous insights – never personal data – are extracted. The image is automatically and irrevocably deleted after extraction. Our technology works at every level according to European data protection laws.

Our technology is not able to identify an individual; therefore, it is not possible to link the collected data to someone’s loyalty and credit card.

The Advertima system does not store any image or video recordings. Our technology immediately deletes the visual information after extracting the anonymized data within 70 milliseconds.

Advertima technology is compliant with European data protection legislation. In Europe, information about the use and purpose of Advertima’s technology is mandatory at the point of installation.

No. Advertima’s technology is not designed to identify individuals, and its system architecture makes it technically impossible to do so. Since no personal or identifiable data is captured or stored, the solution cannot support use cases such as surveillance or criminal investigations.

No. CCTV cameras are made for security purposes and store pictures by default. This could be misused and violate privacy rights of our fellow citizens. Instead we use dedicated visual sensors that are not capable of storing pictures. That’s privacy-by-design at its core.
